Caddis is an accredited training provider through the South African Mining SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority.) Caddis boasts ISO 9001 2015 Quality Management Certification and is accredited with MQA (Mining Qualifications Authority) and QCTO (Quality Council for Trade & Occupations.) Our Facilitators are experienced and qualified professionals in Geoscience, Rock Engineering, Mine Planning and Surveying.

Proven Success

A Brief History

After years of working in Mineral Resource Management (MRM) Department on South African Mines, dealing with Staff Development on the Mines, selecting individuals from Universities for bursary allocation and monitoring, as well as lecturing at University, Cobus saw the growing need for training and consulting in the industry. His involvement in the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) served to identify the need for occupational qualification training. The mines are employing individuals who are working in some challenging conditions without the basic technical mineral resource and related ore body safety knowledge. This is a concern both from a Health and Safety and a production point of view. It is not in the mines economic interest to have a workforce that is untrained. Cobus decided it was time to set up a training and consulting company to fill the gap that was emerging in the industry and so Caddis and GRACE were born.

Our strength lies in a group of experienced, qualified and registered Geoscience, Rock Engineering, Mine Planning and Survey professionals with consultants being sourced as and when required.

The bold step of becoming an accredited training provider through the South African Mining SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority) was awarded and Caddis obtained its ISO 9001 2015 Quality Management Certification, MQA (Mining Qualifications Authority) and QCTO (Quality Council for Trade & Occupations) Accreditation.

This implies that clients who utilize the services of Caddis can be assured of their learners receiving National Qualifications with accompanying credits delivered by registered Assessors and Moderators. They also qualify for grants from the SETA for training provided by Caddis. Caddis can, therefore, provide training for the MQA National Certificates Mining Technical Services (MTS) Levels 2 – 3 and QCTO Occupational Certificates Level 4 qualifications. Also, a suite of practical “Applied Mining Geology” courses is offered to new graduates entering the mining arena and as a refresher for the more senior staff, covering the fundamentals of Mapping, Structure, Drilling, Project Management and MRM.
